Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has implemented strict security measures to prevent question paper leaks and ensure smooth conduct of High School Certificate (HSC) examination-2025. As many as 5,10,778 students will appear for the Class X board exam, scheduled to start from Feb 21 and continue till March 6.
To maintain transparency and fairness, the board has introduced CCTV surveillance, live streaming, QR codes, watermarks, and unique serial numbers on question papers. While all exam centres are under CCTV surveillance, live streaming of examinations will be conducted from 600 centres.
“The measures are aimed at curbing malpractice and ensuring a secure examination. We have used advanced technology for real-time monitoring of the examination and swift response,” said Srikant Tarai, president of BSE. Besides, there will be a four-tier squad system to check malpractice or cheating attempts, and a special squad will monitor the smooth conduct of the exam, he added.
He further added that strong monitoring mechanisms will be in place at 3,133 examination centres spread across 30 districts. Collectors and SPs of districts have been asked to ensure the safety and security of the nodal centres and examination centres. The authorities have been instructed to implement strict protocols for handling and distributing question papers, which will be dispatched to 314 nodal centres between Feb 12 and 19.
Students can collect their admit cards through both online and offline modes. The exam will be held in one sitting every day at 9 am, and students have to enter the exam halls by 8.30 am. The evaluation of answer sheets will begin on March 19 at 47 centres, and the results will be announced within 30 days of completion of the examination.
“We are happy that the board is trying to ensure a fair and secure examination. For the last few years, there were allegations of question paper leaks that break the morale of students like me, who prepared well for the exam and did lots of hard work,” said Swati Snigdha Swain, a class X student.
