Chief minister’s medals handed over to policemen

Chennai: Police commissioner A Arun has exhorted police personnel to take a vow not to resort to any illegal activity that may leave a blemish on the uniformed service force, as the acts of a few errant personnel could demoralize the entire force.
He was speaking at a function in the city on Thursday to present the chief minister’s medal to 770 personnel, including 255 men and women attached to the special unit, out of the 3,000 awardees in the state.
The presentation of medals followed a parade at Rajarathinam Stadium in Egmore. Every year, the chief minister’s medal is awarded to police personnel who have been serving in the uniformed service without any remarks or controversies continuously for 10 years.
In 2025, chief minister M K Stalin ordered the awarding of ‘Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Constabulary Medals‘ to 3,000 personnel in the ranks of Grade-II Police Constables, Grade-I Police Constables, Head Constables, and Special Sub-Inspectors. Arun along with additional commissioners N Kannan, R Sudhakar, A Radhika, and other officers handed over the medals.
