52-year-old farmer critically injured in knife attack at Kalyan’s Lakshmi Market | Mumbai News – The Times of India
Kalyan: An unknown person attacked a 52-year-old farmer with a knife when he came to buy fodder for his bulls in Kalyan’s Lakshmi Market.
The farmer was admitted to the ICU in a private hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
The farmer, identified as Barkya Madhavi, is a resident of Sapade village in Kalyan. According to the police, Madhavi came to buy fodder at 6 am on Thursday in Lakshmi Market, located near the station, when an unknown person attacked him with a sharp weapon and fled, leaving him bleeding.
Dnyaneshwar Sable, senior police inspector of Mahatma Phule police station, said, “During the probe, we found witnesses who saw a man who attacked the farmer, and our team is searching for him.”
The police are also waiting for Madhavi to regain consciousness so that the name of the person who attacked him and the reason behind the attack can be known.
