26 girl students from OAV fall ill after pakhala at school hostel | Bhubaneswar News

Keonjhar: Keonjhar: Twenty-six girl students from Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV) in Oriya village, under Telkoi block of Keonjhar district, were admitted to Telkoi Medical College and Hospital on Monday after falling ill at the school hostel.
According to sources, several students began complaining of vomiting and uneasiness earlier in the day. Of the affected students, eight were administered saline, while others received first aid. The incident reportedly stemmed from food consumed in the hostel. A student revealed she started feeling unwell after eating pakhala and pea curry during breakfast.
“Those who had pakhala fell ill. We are constantly monitoring food quality. The condition of the affected students is stable, and they will be discharged after some time,” said hostel warden Malli Mahanata.
