Mumbai: A school in Kandivli West received a threat email on Monday but it turned out to be a hoax. The email said that a bomb had been placed on the premises. Kandivali Police were immediately informed and the premises was vacated. A search was carried out for two hours but nothing untoward was found. Police said the email had been sent from a masked IP address. Officials said there is a possibility the email originated outside India.
Last week, a threat email with exactly the same content was sent to a school at Oshiwara. Police had checked the premises of the Oshiwara school then and found nothing amiss. Police are probing whether there is any common link between the sender of both mails and what was the purpose.
