Ahead of Utkarsh Odisha, state nod to Rs 32k-cr investments | Bhubaneswar News



Bhubaneswar: Investments worth Rs 32,736 crore across eight transformative industrial projects were approved by the high-level clearance authority (HLCA) on Friday spanning sectors such as chemicals, green energy equipment, shipbuilding and repair, and steel. These investments are set to generate 18,688 employment opportunities.
The development comes days ahead of the highly anticipated Utkarsh OdishaMake in Odisha Conclave 2025, underscoring the state’s commitment to transforming its industrial landscape.
Expressing optimism over the state’s economic prospects, chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi said, “The approval of these big projects before Utkarsh Odisha 2025 is a clear sign of our state’s growing industrial strength. These investments will create thousands of jobs and will directly benefit the people of Odisha. Our focus is to ensure that Odisha remains a top investment destination, driving progress and prosperity for our people.”
The approved projects are spread across districts like Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Sambalpur and Bhadrak, helping to strengthen Odisha’s industrial base. The HLCA meeting highlighted the state’s focus on innovation and sustainability, which will have a positive impact on the economy.
Among the projects approved included Kshoma Green Energy Technologies Ltd’s Rs 6,948 crore solar module and photovoltaic cell manufacturing facility in Khurda, which is expected to create 2,898 jobs, and Dhunseri Ventures Limited, a polycarbonate manufacturing unit in Jagatsinghpur, to be set up at a cost of Rs 6,250 crore and likely to create 1,900 jobs.
