Crack on railway track delays long-distance trains entering Mumbai | Thane News – The Times of India
VASAI: Long distance trains entering Mumbai city were delayed for around half an hour due to a crack on the railway track at Vaitarna station on Tuesday morning.
The crack was noticed and the problem was temporarily rectified but the express trains were seen moving at slow speed on that spot.
The issue was spotted at 7:30am on the up-line and rectified by 8am, said the western railway. The services were impacted for around 20 minutes, they added.
The regular train services were not impacted due to this crack. There was a confirmation that the damaged track would be replaced later.
The western railways updated their X handle (former Twitter) “WR’s Mumbai Suburban local trains and long distance trains entering Mumbai are running late by 15-20 minutes due to technical failure at Vaitarna Station.”.
