ROURKELA: After about 37 hours of rescue operations, one body among the three missing workers was recovered at Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited in Rajgangpur, Sundargarh district, on Saturday following the collapse of a coal bunker inside the factory two days ago.
Although another body of a missing worker was noticed by the rescuers, the operation is ongoing to retrieve that body.

The rescue operation is also continuing to ascertain the whereabouts of the third missing worker. Family members of the deceased and missing workers staged a protest in front of the gate of DCBL on Saturday.
The body recovered from the coal and mangled structures was identified as Dashrath Patra (42).
Sources said a huge quantity of coal was stored in the bunker. Coal from the bunker goes to the boiler in the power plant inside the cement factory. Around 5.30 pm on Thursday, the coal bunker collapsed, and the workers got trapped under it.
An operator room under the bunker was also completely damaged. When some of the workers did not return home after duty hours, worried family members dialled their numbers but could not reach them.
They suspected something was wrong and went to the cement factory gate to enquire about their family members. It was then that they learned about the incident, and after a few hours, it came to light that three workers had gone missing.
They were identified as Dashrath Patra (42), a mechanical fitter, Sushanta Rout (58), a boiler operator, and Ranjit Bhol (24), a mechanical fitter. They were working under a contractor of the power plant.
After hearing about the collapse of the coal bunker, Bibhu Prasad, deputy director, Factory & Boiler, Rourkela, reached the factory gate on Thursday night to enter the factory. He faced the wrath of locals and family members of the three missing workers.
The rescue operation continued throughout Thursday night, with heaps of coal and mangled structures being cleared to reach those feared trapped. Around 100 people, including members of the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force and the fire brigade, were engaged in the rescue operation, with the presence of senior officials of the district administration, the deputy director, Factory & Boiler, and police officials of Rajgangpur police station.
On Friday morning, a large number of locals, including family members of the three missing workers, gathered in front of the factory gate and tried to forcibly enter the plant, but they were driven away by the police.
Although the rescue operation crossed 24 hours, rescuers could not reach the three trapped workers. On Friday night, Sundargarh Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, Sundargarh Superintendent of Police Pratyush Diwakar, and senior officials of the district administration went to the spot.
After about 37 hours of rescue operations, the body of a missing worker was traced on Saturday inside the coal and mangled structure. The body was brought out and identified as Dashrath Patra (42) by his brother. The rescue team noticed the body of another missing worker and is trying to retrieve it.
Family members of the three workers staged a protest in front of the gate of DCBL on Saturday.
Four platoons of police force have been deployed near the plant, and police officials from nearby police stations in Rajgangpur have been deployed there to prevent any untoward incidents.
“The body of a missing worker among the three missing was recovered and brought out by the rescue team, and he has been identified as Dashrath Patra. The deceased Patra was identified by his brother. The rescue team noticed another body, and efforts are ongoing to retrieve it. Another body has not yet been traced, and the team is also trying to locate it,” said Pratyush Diwakar, Superintendent of Police, Sundargarh.
“We have deployed four platoons of police force there, and police officials from Rajgangpur police station and nearby police stations have been deputed there to maintain law and order,” said Diwakar.
