Patna boy secures 2nd position in JEE Advanced 2024 from Guwahati zone | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: Patna boy Aniket Kumar secured the second position in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati zone, with an All India Rank (AIR) of 96. The results were declared by IIT-Madras on Sunday. Pratham Kumar from Muzaffarpur secured the fifth rank in Guwahati zone with an AIR of 343.
Emad Arif from Patna got AIR 77, who appeared from IIT-Delhi zone, Shaurya Singh from Vaishali secured AIR 187 from IIT-Mumbai zone and Abubakar Siddiqui from Kishanganj got AIR 168 from IIT-Delhi zone.He was the state topper in JEE (Main) session 1 from Bihar with 99.99 percentile.
Scoring 301 out of 360 marks, Aniket aspires to study computer science and engineering at his dream institute, IIT-Delhi. He commenced his preparation for the engineering exam immediately after class X and spent a year in Kota for intensive training. “Apart from regular coaching and online classes, I devoted 6-7 hours for self-study. I am happy that I cleared the exam in first attempt and got ranking in double-digits, which will help me to get admission in IIT -Delhi,” Aniket said.
The 17-year-old revealed that he secured AIR 681 in Mains session 1 and put in extra effort for the Advanced. “I did not make second attempt for the Mains and focused on JEE Advanced,” Aniket said, expressing his ambition to bring about a revolution in the IT sector. He achieved 95.4% in Class XII from Doon Public School and 96.8% in Class X from Gyan Niketan.
Originally from Aurangabad, Aniket resides with his family in Ramjaypal Nagar, Patna. His father, Sunil Kumar Singh, works as an assistant statistical officer in the planning and development department of the Bihar govt, while his mother, Pratima Devi, is a homemaker. His elder sister is pursuing BTech from VIT. Aniket’s parents are overjoyed with their son’s achievement.
Similarly, Pratham also aspires to study computer science and engineering, but at IIT Bombay. He was the state topper in JEE Main with AIR 33. After Class X, he stayed in Patna and prepared for the engineering exam at a coaching institute. “Teachers of the institute helped me a lot. They provided online study material, daily practice programme and conducted mock tests,” he said. Pratham credits his success to a well-planned strategy, consistent efforts, and dedication to his studies.
The candidates who have cleared the JEE Advanced will now participate in the counselling process for admission to the IITs, which will be conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
