Dist admin makes elaborate preparations for Jan 4 BPSC re-exam | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Undeterred by the ongoing protests of the aspirants, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will hold the re-examination for about 12,000 candidates of one exam centre on Saturday (January 4).
The district administration is making all arrangements for the peaceful conduct of the examination.
The BPSC had cancelled the exam held at Bapu Pariksha Parisar centre at Kumhrar on December 13, 2024, due to the disruptions created by a group of unruly people. In this connection, the Agamkuan police have so far arrested three people, who caused a disturbance and walked out of the examination hall with a bundle of question papers.
Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh and SSP Avkash Kumar issued a joint statement on Thursday that the re-exam will be held in a single shift from 12 noon to 2 pm at 22 different exam centres in the city for the aspirants who had taken the exam at the Bapu Pariksha Parisar centre. They have instructed all centre supervisors, magistrates, and police officers to strictly adhere to the directions received from the BPSC. “Their responsibility will be to ensure that the re-examination is conducted peacefully and without any misconduct,” they said.
During a meeting held here on Thursday, the DM said entry for candidates at the examination centres will begin at 9.30am and no one will be permitted under any circumstances after 11am. “Invigilators will re-check the examinees in the examination room to ensure they do not possess any prohibited items. During the examination period, no examinee or invigilator will leave the room. The centre supervisor will only be allowed to bring a keypad phone (non-smartphone),” the DM said.
The aspirants are prohibited from bringing electronic items such as cellphones, bluetooth, Wi-Fi gadgets, electronic pens, pagers, wristwatches (normal or smart), and items like whiteners, blades, erasers into the examination room. “If these items are found with the examinees, they will face disciplinary action, including cancellation of their candidature and potential disqualification from participating in this and future examinations by the BPSC,” the DM added.
To ensure a misconduct-free examination and maintain law and order, 24 static magistrates-cum-observers, 22 zonal magistrates, and seven flying squads would deputed by the district administration. Police officers and armed forces would also be deputed with them. Additionally, 14 standby magistrates would be kept ready in the district control room. Rajesh Roshan, ADM (law and order), Patna, has been appointed as the assistant coordinator. Amrit Kumar, district programme officer (education), Patna, has been designated as the nodal officer.
The DM and SSP said that all centre supervisors and officers should ensure that the aspirants do not face any problem.
