Cops to unfurl tricolour along coast from Jan 26 | Bhubaneswar News
Bhubaneswar: To enhance coastal security, Odisha police have decided to unfurl the national flag at major stretches along the state’s 480-km-long coastline from Jan 26. Police said the action seeks to foster patriotic sentiment while serving as a deterrent to unauthorised entrants along the coast.
DGP Y B Khurania discussed the extensive security arrangements being established to protect the state’s coastline. Following a drone survey, police authorities identified 70 places along the coast requiring prompt security attention. Police units are presently conducting thorough inspections at these sites, marking the initial stage of a broader security enhancement programme.
Khurania said that flying the tricolour is a symbolic effort to assert sovereignty and create a psychological deterrent against potential infiltrators, especially in the backdrop of the turmoil in neighbouring Bangladesh.TNN
