Maa Manikeshwari univ’s VC dies at 63 | Bhubaneswar News
Bhubaneswar: Sanjay Kumar Satapathy, the vice-chancellor of Maa Manikeshwari University, Bhawanipatna, in Kalahandi district, died at a private hospital here on Wednesday morning. He was undergoing treatment for cancer and other ailments. He was 63 years old.
Satapathy, an alumnus of Ravenshaw College (now Ravenshaw University), started his career as a lecturer in 1984 at Cuttack College and retired as a commerce professor from his alma mater in 2021. Post-retirement, he was appointed as the VC of Maa Manikeshwari University (erstwhile Kalahandi University) on April 16, 2021.
He authored more than 26 books, including 13 academic books and over 50 research publications. He was also an actor, lyricist, singer and anchor, who worked in radio and television.
