BPSC: No exam cancellation, retest for one centre on Jan 4 | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination controller, Rajesh Kumar Singh, on Tuesday ruled out the cancellation of the 70th Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024, which was held on December 13 at various centres across the state.
Singh also said that the commission would hold a re-examination for candidates who were assigned to the Bapu Pariksha Parisar examination centre on Dec 13 and disclosed that the re-examination would be held on Jan 4, 2025. Around 12,000 candidates will appear in the Jan 4 re-examination, he said.
“Considering the interests of the state’s diligent young candidates, the commission’s full bench decided to re-conduct the examination of the candidates who appeared in the test at the Bapu Pariksha Parisar. The future of 3,24,298 youths cannot be jeopardised due to a few disruptive elements. All candidates of the 70th Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination are requested to prepare for the main exam likely to be held in April 2025,” the examination controller said in a statement issued here.
Singh further urged the candidates of the Bapu Pariksha Parisar who will participate in the re-examination on Jan 4, 2025, to prepare for the preliminary examination.
“Do not be misled by elements spreading confusion without facts and inciting disputes based on baseless information. The Patna district police are investigating the conspirators behind the entire incident. After the investigation, swift and effective action will be taken against such elements under relevant provisions of the Examination Malpractice (Prevention) Act 2024, IT Act, Indian Penal Code, and Code of Criminal Procedure,” he said.
The BPSC recently cancelled its CCE’s preliminary examination held at Bapu Pariksha Parisar in Patna’s Kumhrar locality on Dec 13.
The BPSC has also served show-cause notices to 34 aspirants, who were allegedly part of the disruption created at the Bapu Pariksha Parisar centre on Dec 13.
“All 34 students have been asked to reply to the show-cause notices by Dec 26. The commission will examine their replies and then will take appropriate decisions. In the case of those who fail to submit their replies, the commission will take the decision based on evidence available with the commission,” the official said.
