Bhubaneswar: The state govt on Monday dissolved the governing body or managing committees of all non-govt aided degree colleges in Odisha that come under the purview of the higher education department with immediate effect. This decision excludes autonomous colleges, colleges established by minority communities, and cases under sub-judice in different courts relating to the governing bodies of any college.
The additional district magistrate (ADM) of the districts will temporarily act as president of the governing body or managing committee of the college situated at the district headquarters. If any district has more than one ADM, the district collector will nominate one of the ADMs to act as president of the college governing body or managing committee.
If the college is situated outside the district headquarters, the sub-collector of the concerned sub-division will temporarily act as president of the managing committee or governing body until further notice. The president of the governing body, as formed above, must submit the proposal for the formation of a fresh committee within a period of three months from the date of publication of this order.
