522 from Bhojpur attend Agnipath recruitment rally – Times of India

Patna: Altogether 522 shortlisted Agniveer candidates from Bhojpur district participated in a high-energy recruitment rally at the new KLP ground in Chandmari, Danapur cantonment, on Friday.
According to sources from the Danapur Army zonal recruitment office, nearly 6,000 candidates from seven districts — Patna, Buxar, Bhojpur, Siwan, Saran, Gopalganj and Vaishali — have been shortlisted for the rally, which will continue till Dec 27. The shortlisted candidates from Bhojpur underwent physical fitness tests and documentation verification on the first day.
Extensive security measures, including heavy deployment of local police and paramilitary forces, barricading and metal detectors were implemented to maintain law and order. “Our focus was to ensure safety and a hassle-free experience for the candidates,” a senior security official said.
The Agnipath scheme, aimed at recruiting soldiers for a four-year term in the Indian armed forces, has garnered substantial interest in Bihar, a state with a rich tradition of contributing soldiers to the Army. “This rally is an indication of the spirit of our youth, who are ready to serve the nation,” said Col V K Singh, adding that the scheme is pivotal to modernising the Army by bringing in younger recruits.
For many candidates, the rally was a momentous occasion. “This is a dream come true. Serving the nation is my lifelong goal,” said Rajiv Singh, a participant from Bhojpur. “The Agnipath scheme, though met with mixed reactions nationwide, remains a key initiative in strengthening our armed forces,” Col Singh added.
