Patnaites can avail double-decker road, metro by 2025: DM | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Patna district magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh on Wednesday said that the residents can avail the 2.2km long two-lane double-decker elevated corridor from Kargil Chowk to Patna Science College and metro rail services by 2025.
“The double-decker elevated corridor, whose 93% of foundation work, 83% of substructure, 53% of super-structure and 60% of approach path were complete, would be completed by February 2025,” he said after an inspection on the day.
The DM added the construction of six underground metro stations — Akashwani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Patna University, Moinul Haque and Rajendra Nagar — is also progressing well. The residents can enjoy the services from 2025, said the DM, while conducting spot inspection of the route.
He added Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited (BRPNNL) officials told them about the problems being faced by them. “The inspection was conducted to find ways to sort out the issues,” said the DM, who was accompanied by BRPNNL head Shirsat Kapil Ashok among other officials.
The DM added the owners of 51 shops, which were falling on the way of alignment of the service road of the double-decker project, have been informed to shift to their new locations by Saturday. “The BRPNNL has already constructed an equal number of shops of matching sizes for relocating the affected businessmen,” said Singh.
The DM, meanwhile, instructed Patna Metro Rail Corporation to shift their barricading boards by four metres to provide way for the construction of the double-decker project. Notably, BRPNNL has to construct 7m-wide service roads near Patna Science College and it was facing problems due to the ongoing metro work.
