Tejashwi Yadav Accuses Nitish Kumar of Misusing Taxpayer Funds for Political Campaign | – Times of India

Patna: Leader of opposition in Bihar assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, on Tuesday launched scathing attacks on CM Nitish Kumar by accusing him of launching his “political yatra at the cost of taxpayers’ money ahead of next year’s assembly elections in the state.
Tejashwi criticised the CM while citing the state cabinet’s decision to spend Rs 225 crore during his monthlong Mahila Samwad Karyakram, to be launched by the CM shortly. The cabinet took this decision at its meeting held on November 19.
Taking to X handle, the former deputy CM alleged that Nitish’s yatra was nothing but a “picnic at the expense of taxpayers’ money” when the next assembly elections are around the corner. “For 20 years, Bihar was thrown into the flames of unemployment, migration, lawlessness, corruption and chaos by Nitish,” he alleged, asking if it is justified to waste such a huge amount of money in the name of yatra.
He alleged there was nothing on the ground for girl students and women, but billions of rupees are being wasted by the officials for publicity. “Nitish is going to spend crores of rupees over no issues,” he alleged. He also criticised the state govt’s attempts to showcase its achievements, such as the implementation of smart meters, and said it cannot hide the extent of the destruction caused by corruption, bureaucracy and institutional corruption.
