Patna: The “Bihar Business Connect 2024—Ambassadors’ Meet,” organised by the state’s industries department, was successfully held in the national capital on Monday. The event marked a significant step towards showcasing Bihar’s strategic initiatives, reforms, and investment opportunities on a global platform, an industries department official said.
The meet served as a prelude to the upcoming “Global Investors’ Summit 2024” in the state capital on December 19 and 20 this year.
The event was inaugurated by deputy chief minister and finance minister, Samrat Choudhary. The state’s industry and tourism minister, Nitish Mishra, chief secretary Amrit Lal Meena, and decretary of the department of industries, Bandana Preyashi, among other senior officials, shared their insights.
“Delegations, ambassadors, and senior officials from various countries participated in the event, including representatives from the USA, Russia, Japan, and esteemed trade organisations like the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, TPCI, FIEO, AEPC, US-India Business Council, and UK-India Business Council,” a statement issued by the industries department said.
In his keynote address, Choudhary highlighted the progress in Bihar’s industrial and sustainable development. He stated, “Bihar is at the forefront of creating a business-friendly environment, where strategic policies are aligned with an inclusive development approach. We are committed to fostering economic prosperity and global partnerships.”
The industry minister emphasised the state’s immense potential, saying, “Bihar offers unique opportunities in sectors like food processing, renewable energy, and infrastructure. Programmes like the ambassadors’ meet play a crucial role in strengthening long-term collaboration and positioning the state as a hub for innovation and investment.”
The event highlighted Bihar’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’, sustainable industrial processes, and sector-specific development strategies. Presentations by departmental secretaries from IT, labour, and energy showcased the state’s initiatives to attract investors. Interactive discussions with foreign delegations and industry leaders promoted the expansion of business relations, bilateral cooperation, and the integration of global expertise with Bihar’s development path.
“The ambassadors’ meet laid a strong foundation for the upcoming ‘Global Investors’ Summit 2024′ and positioned Bihar as an attractive destination for global trade and investment. This initiative reflects the state’s progressive, inclusive, and investor-focused industrial vision,” the statement said.
