Patna: A large-scale ticket-checking drive was conducted from dawn to dusk at various locations in the Danapur division of the East Central Railway on Monday. A total of 438 people were fined for travelling without proper tickets and Rs 27.51 lakh in fines was collected from them, ECR’s chief public relations officer Saraswati Chandra said.
In a similar operation in the Sonepur division of the ECR, 3,592 people were detained and fined for travelling without tickets, resulting in a fine collection of Rs 23.31 lakh.
