SHO suspended for letting off bootlegger

Ara: Bhojpur superintendent of police (SP) Raj on Monday suspended two policemen and recommended cancellation of a home guard’s contract for their negligence in curbing illicit liquor trade.
“For exhibiting sheer negligence in a case related to illicit liquor trade, Dhobahan station house officer (SHO) Sanjeev Kumar Ram and trainee sub-inspector (SI) Chandra Prakash Pandit were suspended, while recommendations were made to cancel home guard Ghanshyam Kumar’s contract,” a press communique from the Bhojpur SP stated.
According to police sources, two days ago an illicit liquor trader was allegedly let off by the suspended cops. The suspended SHO allegedly did not do the paperwork, such as case diary entry regarding the seizure of illicit liquor two days ago.
