Patna: Bhojpur district unit of RJD on Thursday held a day-long dharna near Ramna maidan in Ara, demanding implementation of 65% reservation for the SC/ST, EBC and OBC in the state.
The dharna, presided over by RJD Bhojpur district president Birbal Yadav, was also attended by former MLAs of Ara and Barhara Anwar Alam and Saroj Yadav respectively, and many party workers.
Addressing the gathering, Birbal said, “When RJD was in the govt, a caste census was conducted, and based on its findings, the scope of the reservation was expanded. However, CM Nitish Kumar has done nothing to implement the quota. Our leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will fight to ensure the implementation of the 65% reservation in the state.”
Former Ara MLA also lashed out at the NDA govt and accused it of trying to end the reservation.
