Keonjhar: Police on Wednesday arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly molesting a 15-month-old baby girl on Tuesday evening.
The accused reportedly committed the crime around 7 pm while the girl was playing. Upon hearing the child’s cries, he fled the scene, leaving the infant behind. The girl was initially rushed to a hospital in critical condition. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later transferred to another hospital in Keonjhar, where she is currently undergoing treatment.
The girl’s grandfather filed a formal complaint on Wednesday. Acting on the complaint, police officials visited the crime scene and apprehended the accused. “We have detained the accused and are thoroughly investigating the incident,” a police official said.
