Two-Day-Old Baby Stolen from VIMSAR Hospital in Sambalpur | Bhubaneswar News

Sambalpur: A two-day-old baby boy was allegedly stolen from the gynaecology ward of VIMSAR on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place around 2:15 pm when an unidentified person reportedly took the infant away. The baby belongs to a family from Chhattisgarh.
As soon as the incident was reported, the hospital authorities informed the police. Both the VIMSAR outpost police and officers from Burla police station began investigating. A CCTV camera in the hospital captured a woman carrying the baby.
VIMSAR director Bhabagrahi Rath, told TOI, “The CCTV installed in the hospital premises had captured a clear image of the lady. Burla police are currently tracking the lady from CCTV cameras installed in Burla market and elsewhere.”
