Koraput: A physician posted at Kalimela community health centre (CHC) in Malkangiri district, has been missing since Saturday night from his quarters. A handwritten Maoist poster found in the verandah of the CHC has raised suspicions that rebels might be involved in Bhoi’s disappearance but police are yet to confirm it.
Amlan Bhoi, in his mid-thirties, resided in the govt quarters on the CHC premises along with two other doctors.
A missing person’s complaint was filed by the authorities concerned at Kalimela police station on Sunday. Preliminary investigation suggests minimal likelihood of involvement of the rebels in the incident. “The exact reason for his disappearance is yet to be ascertained,” said SP (Malkangiri) Nitesh Wadhwani.
Police said the doctor had been involved in a quarrel with individuals while conducting a postmortem at the CHC recently.
