Ara: With a view to increasing the coverage of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY)-cum-Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, especially for elderly people above 70 years of age, the Bhojpur administration on Wednesday set up 32 dedicated counters at prime locations in the district.
The counters would function till December 10.
“As of now, 9,72,372 people—45.60% of eligible holders—have got the Ayushman cards, while more than 11 lakh in the Bhojpur district are yet to avail of the scheme. To ensure 100% enrolment under the scheme, 32 dedicated counters have been set up in the district,” a press release issued by the Bhojpur DM’s office said.
The dedicated counters have been set up at the Ara collectorate premises, Ramna Maidan park, block office and SDM office, all govt hospitals and other healthcare institutions. In villages, the panchayat bhawans will serve the beneficiaries. The eligible beneficiaries can also get the Ayushman cards at public distribution systems kiosks and common service centres (CSC). In the villages, the panchayat secretary will be the nodal officer, who will monitor the scheme, said the release.
Bhojpur DM Tanai Sultania has asked all the block development officers (BDOs), sub-divisional magistrates (SDMs) and panchayati raj officers to monitor the special campaign to ensure maximum enrolment of the eligible beneficiaries.
Apart from this facility, people can also get their Ayushman cards by downloading the authentic Ayushman App. The only document required for getting the cards for the elderly people will be their Aadhaar cards.
