Ara: The planned heroics of a gang of youths in Ara, intending to celebrate a birthday party on a highway by firing gunshots into the air, were thwarted on Sunday night when police arrested five of them, including two minors, with illegal arms and ammunition.
Bhojpur SP Raj, said acting on a tip-off on Sunday evening that a gang of youths had gathered at Gausganj Singahi Mor under the Town police station of Ara and were planning to celebrate a birthday party by firing gunshots from illegal arms on a highway, posing a great threat to public safety, a special police team, including personnel from the Ara Town police station, carried out a raid and arrested five youths, including two minors.
The police seized an illegal pistol, five live cartridges, an empty cartridge, a magazine, four cellphones and some cash from the arrested people. “The police also registered a case under relevant sections of BNS against them,” the SP added.
