Berhampur: Fourteen people were arrested on Saturday for their alleged involvement in a group clash at Jagili Sahi on Thursday night. The clash reportedly took place over some comments made during a football match. At least 10 people sustained injuries when rival groups pelted stones at each other.
“We have registered cases against 39 people from both groups for their alleged involvement in the clash, and have arrested 14 of them so far,” said DS Pratap, sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Berhampur town, on Sunday.
The accused were identified through CCTV footage and arrested. A search is ongoing to nab the others involved in the incident, the SDPO said. TNN
