Mini-gun unit uncovered in Saran, 1 held

Chhapra: A joint team of Saran police and special task force (STF) from Muzaffarpur on Wednesday unearthed a mini-gun factory and recovered arms and semi-finished guns.
Saran SP Kumar Ashish said on Thursday that following a tip-off, the team conducted a raid on the premises of one Sujit Sharma, a resident of Natha Chhapra under Dariapur police station of the district, and unearthed a mini-gun factory. The team also recovered some arms and semi-finished guns from the factory. The police arrested Sujit and registered a case against him in Dariapur PS under the Arms Act. The SP said a country-made gun, 10 barrels and raw material used for manufacturing country-made guns were recovered from the factory.
In another incident, police arrested one Sunny Kumar, son of Niraj Kumar, a native of Parsa Shankar Dih under the same police station, and recovered a stolen motorcycle. The SP said the motorcycle of one Zamir Sai of Pojhi Parsa under Parsa police station was stolen near Rakesh Pustak Bhandar on October 23 and a case was registered in this regard.
