Patna University Approves Appointment of 40 Assistant Professors Amidst Staff Agitation | – Times of India
Patna: Patna University (PU) syndicate on Wednesday approved the appointment of altogether 40 assistant professors in psychology, philosophy, mathematics and Urdu. These appointments were made on the recommendation of Bihar State University Service Commission.
The syndicate, at its meeting held here under the chairmanship of vice-chancellor Ajay Kumar Singh, also accorded its approval to the promotion of three teachers under career advancement scheme, besides granting lien to N K Jha of commerce department and Ranbir Nandan of B N College. Jha has joined Patliputra University as its registrar, while Nandan has joined Bihar state board of religious trust.
In the meeting, the syndicate also decided to hold its annual convocation soon by seeking a date from the chancellor, besides a meeting of the academic senate on a recommended date.
The meeting was attended among others by students’ welfare dean Anil Kumar, proctor Rajneesh Kumar and registrar Shalini.
Meanwhile, the non-teaching employees of PU on Wednesday launched a two-day agitation to press for their long-pending demands. They are staging a dharna at the university office, said PU Employees’ Union president Subodh Kumar.
