He inaugurated the four-lane Galgalia (West Bengal)-Araria section of NH-327E, which will provide an alternate route on the East-West Corridor (NH-27) to the neighbouring state.
The foundation stones that Modi laid were for eight NH projects, including two-lane road with paved shoulders from Ramnagar to Rosera, Bihar-West Bengal border to Manihari (Katihar) section of NH-131A and Hajipur to Bachhwara via Mahnar and Mohiuddin Nagar among others. In line with the vision of bringing Piped Natural Gas to households and providing clean energy options to commercial and industrial sectors, the PM laid the foundation stone for the development of the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network in five districts — Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, Sitamarhi and Sheohar — by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. He also laid the foundation stone of a bitumen manufacturing unit of Barauni Refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Limited that will help reduce reliance on imports.
Besides, Modi dedicated to the nation 18 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras at various railway stations across India. “These will ensure availability of affordable medicines at railway stations.
