Patna: A semi-burnt body, packed in a sack tied to a motorcycle, was recovered in Kharidi Bigha locality under Town police station of Nawada on Sunday morning.
According to police, both the body and bike were half-burnt. A forensic science team visited the spot and collected samples. The body was identified as that of Praveen Paswan (25), a resident of Dhamaul in Sadar police station area, with the help of the chassis number of the bike.
The police seized the body and sent it to sadar hospital for postmortem.
Sadar subdivisional police officer (SDPO) Hulas Kumar said it seemed prima facie, Paswan was killed somewhere else and then his body was brought to the deserted place for burning. “It was packed in a sack and burnt, along with the bike, to hide his identity. The cause of death was not revealed in the primary investigation as the body was almost burnt, making it difficult to find any gunshot, stabbing or strangulation marks, or injuries. The actual cause of death would be known in the autopsy report.”
The SDPO added that Paswan ran a computer coaching centre. “His family members did not mention any enmity or dispute with anyone. We are also investigating the angle of any affair. No written application has been filed by the deceased’s family members yet,” said the SDPO.
