Patna: LJP(RV) state chief Raju Tiwary on Sunday dispelled the speculation that he, besides other functionaries, would quit the party in search of greener pastures.
“The speculation that I may quit the LJP(RV) is useless. I don’t think it is even proper to comment on this,” Tiwary told this newspaper when contacted on phone. He was elected to the state assembly in 2015 from the Govindganj assembly seat in East Champaran district.
“I joined the LJP in 2002 when it was formed and have learnt the ABC of politics from the party. With over two decades of association with the party, I cannot even think of quitting it even in the wildest of my dreams,” Tiwary added.
Speculation is doing round that if the Govindganj seat doesn’t come in LJP(RV) quota, then Tiwari might quit the party to join Jan Suraaj. However, a source close to Tiwary laughed at the speculation. The sitting MLA of Govindganj is Sunil Mani Tiwary from the BJP.
An LJP (RV) functionary, in a written statement, said Tiwary might serve a legal notice to the news outlet that floated the speculative news.
Describing himself as a “loyal soldier” of the LJP(RV), he termed the speculation of his switchover as “baseless, aimed at causing confusion.” He also expressed concern over the “motivated” rumours that had been made earlier about three party MPs quitting the LJP (RV), which, however, were proved wrong. “In fact, the party would win even the coming assembly elections with 100% strike rate, like it had won five Lok Sabha seats that it had contested this year,” the statement said.
