93% pass state madrassa board exams

Bhubaneswar: Private students fared better than regular students in the annual examination results of maulvi (matriculation) to fazil (post-graduate) level published by the Odisha State Board of Madrassa Education on Wednesday.
Board secretary, Afzal Parwaiz, said around 711 of total 758 students who appeared different examinations passed. He said the overall pass percentage stood at 93%. He said out of the total passed students, 300 are regular students in five madrassaa, while the rest are private.
According to madrasa officials, a private student from Cuttack district topped the Maulvi (matriculation) examination. Similarly, another private student from Cuttack district stood first in mahir (Plus II) examination. In ‘alim’ (degree level exam), a regular student topped, the secretary said.TNN
