86 Naxals surrender before cops, 5 from T | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: At a time when Chhattisgarh police are making deep inroads into the Naxal-affected region in Chhattisgarh by eliminating members of the CPI-Maoist party, 86 members the outlawed group surrendered before the Bhadradri-Kothagudem police on Saturday.
Out of the 86 surrendered members, 81 are from Chhattisgarh and the remaining five are from Mulugu district of Telangana. Last month, 60 Maoist cadres surrendered in a similar manner.
Inspector general of police (IGP) Chandrasekhar Reddy, while sharing the details of the surrendered Naxals, said that four members belong to Area Committee Member rank, 27 are from militia members. “Members said that it was due to differences with party’s leadership that they decided to surrender and rejoin their families,” the IGP said.
