7cr vehicle loan fraud busted, 16 luxury cars seized – The Times of India

Mumbai: The city crime branch unearthed a cheating case where a gang of seven allegedly defrauded multiple financial institutions by using forged documents to secure vehicle loans, with the fraud estimated to run into Rs 7.32 crore. They seized 16 high-end cars.
These high-end cars include 11 Toyota Fortuners, a Mercedes, a Mahindra Thar, and one BMW convertible. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Datta Nalawade said another set of six to seven cars are being seized and will be brought to Mumbai. The case came to light after one Ravindra Girkar alias Pradeep Sharma recently took a Mahindra Thar jeep on loan from the Parksite area in Vikhroli and defaulted on monthly EMI. — Ahmed Ali
