78.7% clear CBSE Class XII exams in state, 92.4% Class X | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: At least 78.74% Class XII students and 92.40% in Class X in the state cleared their annual CBSE examinations, the results of which were announced on Tuesday. A total of 41,051 students registered for the Class XII examination from Odisha.Of these, 40,728 students appeared for the exam, and 32,070 cleared it. Among those who appeared, 22,228 were boys and 18,500 were girls. Girls registered a pass percentage of 80.77%, while boys lagged slightly behind at 77.05%.While the national pass percentage in Class XII was 88.39%, the Bhubaneswar region, which comprises Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh, recorded a lower figure of 83.64%. Across the state, students of 505 schools appeared in the Class XII examinations, which were held at 240 centres. The exams began on Feb 15 and concluded on April 4.The national pass rate for Class X was 93.66%. Of the 60,315 students who appeared for the Class X exam from the state, 55,734 passed. Girls once again outperformed boys, securing a pass percentage of 93.34%, compared to 91.57%. The Class X exams were conducted across 250 centres in the state, affiliated with 727 CBSE schools.Students attributed their performance to better preparations, improved school support systems and increased digital learning tools. “Support of the teachers and parents has been commendable in preparations for the examination. The ecosystem both at home and at school helped us in appearing for the exams in a stress-free atmosphere,” said Tanmay Rout, a Class X student of a city school who secured 98.6% marks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the students who passed both board examinations this year.In a post on X, PM Modi said, “This is the outcome of your determination, discipline, and hard work. Today is also a day to acknowledge the role played by parents, teachers, and all others who have contributed to this feat. Wishing exam warriors great success in all the opportunities that lie ahead.” Asking students to stay confident and curious because great things await, he added, “To those who feel slightly dejected at their scores, I want to tell them, one exam can never define you. Your journey is much bigger, and your strength goes far beyond the mark sheet.”Highlighting the consistent performance of girl students in recent years, Pradhan said, “This reflects a powerful image of new India, where the dreams of our daughters are being realised through success.” He encouraged all students to remain committed to their responsibilities in the future and wished them a bright future.In another post, Pradhan said the CBSE board examinations are being conducted in line with the recommendations of the New Education Policy.
