Berhampur: The body of a 64-year-old man was discovered in agricultural fields near Ganjam district’s Gunasagar village, two days after he went missing from his home. The deceased, Udaya Nath Nayak of Gunasagar, had left his residence on Tuesday and hadn’t returned since. Local villagers spotted his body in the fields and alerted both the police and his family members.
“Initial investigation suggests the victim might have been attacked by wild animals, possibly wild boars,” said Dipti Ranjan Behera, inspector in-charge of Patapur police station. The body bore multiple injury marks. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
