This led to a heated argument of the SUV passengers with the car’s owner, before the local residents drove them away. They, however, returned after some time and opened fire, before escaping through Hartali Mor, where additional director general of police (law and order) Pankaj Darad was present coincidentally and witnessed the scene. He gave a chase to the SUV up to Patna GPO roundabout, but the criminals managed to escape.Saket Kumar, Secretariat sub-divisional police officer-II, said only one empty bullet shell was recovered from the spot near Pant Bhawan but four to eight rounds were fired. “So far, the police could not ascertain whether the accused have any criminal history. There were a total of four people in the black SUV,” he told this newspaper.
