Kendrapada: A 50-year-old man was arrested on Saturday on charges of raping a 14-year-old girl at a village in Kendrapada district.
The incident came to light following the FIR lodged by the girl’s mother at the police station on Friday. According to the complaint, the girl was sexually abused by Sanatan Behera on Dec 15 last year. The girl’s mother came to know about the incident in Jan. The girl told her mother that Behera threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone.
The accused was produced in a Kendrapada court on Saturday. The court rejected his bail application and remanded him into jail custody on Saturday, police sources said.
