Mumbai: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Mumbai Zonal Unit siezed 3.9 kg gold in the dust form valued at Rs 3.42cr concealed in pouches from four passengers at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The four passengers identified as Alamgir Badshah, Akbar Khan, Rehana Khan, and Firdos Khan, arrived from Jeddah on Friday morning. Officials said that these passengers were intercepted near the exit gate after they crossed the customs green channel. Two accused, identified as Fahad Yarker and Adil Sikander, waited in the airport arrival hall to receive the smuggled gold. Advocate Ravi Hirani said that their clients are innocent as they were not aware that bringing gold would attract customs duty.
