MUMBAI: A 44-year-old woman was arrested by Dindoshi Police for the alleged murder of a businessman with whom she used to be in a relationship. The body of Imamuddin Mansuri, 47, was found at a hotel in Malad East on May 4. An autopsy confirmed that he was murdered.Mansuri was based out of Mira Road and had a shop in Malad East. Police investigations showed that he and Barkat Rathod checked into the hotel earlier the same day. Rathod and Mansuri used to have a relationship but severed ties after their respective families found out. The two are also distant relatives.Police said Mansuri was poisoned and then strangled. Rathod was picked up from Surat while she was trying to head back to her maternal home in Rajasthan. Dindoshi Police said Rathod was booked on charges of murder under Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita.
