412 state quota seats left before second round of med counselling

Bhubaneswar: After the first round of medical counselling for MBBS and BDS courses, only 412 out of 1,863 state quota seats are left for the second round. Counselling for the second round will be completed by Sept 27. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is responsible for conducting online counselling for 15 per cent of All India Quota (AIQ) seats for undergraduate (UG) courses.
In Odisha, the remaining 85 per cent of medical seats offered by state-run medical colleges will be managed by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) under the skill development and technical education department.
Odisha has 12 govt medical colleges, one state-run dental college, three private medical colleges, and one private dental college, with a total of 1,950 MBBS seats and 163 BDS seats. OJEE is conducting medical counselling for 1,709 MBBS seats and 154 BDS seats.
In the first round, 1,451 MBBS and BDS seats were filled. OJEE authorities have issued a notice for choice filling and locking for the second round of medical counselling, which will open at midnight on Monday.

DTE counselling: 99% seats in popular govt colleges filled
Government engineering colleges in Indore have successfully filled nearly 99% of their undergraduate seats following the final round of centralised online counselling. Institutions such as Shri GS Institute of Technology and Science and the Institute of Engineering Technology at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya achieved high occupancy rates. In contrast, private colleges managed to fill only around 60-70% of their seats.
