41 Suvidha centres for GST biometric certification | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary said here on Friday that 41 Suvidha centres would be opened in the state by August end to provide Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration to traders through biometric certification of the applicants.
Choudhary, who is also commercial tax department (CTD) minister, said the decision to grant GST registration through biometric certification of the applicants was originally taken at the 53rd meeting of the GST Council.
The traders will have to submit application, necessary documents and also have to get biometric certification done, only after which GST registration will be provided.
“The objective behind the introduction of biometric certification is to weed out dubious applicants, who use fake e-challans to claim input tax credit,” Chaudhary said.
