4 jewellery thieves held – Times of India

Rourkela: Four members of an interstate gang were arrested on Monday for allegedly looting jewellery worth Rs 28 lakh from a railway junior engineer’s quarters in Bondamunda two months ago, police said.
Rourkela SP Nitesh Wadhwani told reporters that police have recovered 120 grams of gold ornaments, 40 grams of silver jewellery, and Rs 70,000 in cash.
The accused are Sushil Kumar Singh (35) from Bihar, Ajay Kumar Anchal (34) from Rourkela, Sachin Mahato (23) and Rabi Shankar Verma (36), both from Jharkhand. Verma allegedly acted as the receiver of stolen goods.
The incident occurred on Oct 18 night when five unidentified men broke into the quarters of Dillip Kumar Panda (44) by cutting through a window grill. The perpetrators tied up Panda and confined him to his bedroom before making off with gold and silver ornaments weighing approximately 380-400 grams, along with Rs 10,000 in cash and important documents.
“We formed a special team that conducted raids across Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh based on electronic evidence and ground intelligence,” the SP said. The recovered items also include four mobile phones.
