Madhubani: In a crackdown on illegal liquor trade, a police team seized 760 bottles of beer (380 litres) from a car at Sagarpur village under Sakri police station area in Madhubani district on Wednesday morning.Acting on a tip-off received during a routine morning patrol, sub-inspector Lakshman Chaubey, accompanied by constables, raided the location near the house of one Rahul Kumar, son of Kari Das. The police recovered a large consignment of illegal beer hidden in a car. The vehicle was covered with a yellow plastic tarpaulin and parked by the roadside.“Rahul Kumar, a resident of Sagarpur, has been named as suspect in the FIR registered at the police station. The police are investigating the involvement of other persons in the illegal liquor trade,” the Chaubey said.
