Balasore: Over 3,000 residents of six villages will be shifted to temporary shelters on Thursday ahead of a missile test from the launch complex-III (LC-III) at Chandipur Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Balasore district.
As per official information, people living within a 2.5-km radius of LC-III will be relocated as a safety measure. A total of 3,100 residents will be temporarily shifted to three designated shelters.They include Jaydevkasba Pahi and Sahajangar Pahi (1,093 people), Bhimpur Pahi and Tundra Pahi (895), and Khadupahi and Kusumuli (1,112).
Temporary camps for people of Jaydevkasba Pahi and Sahajangar Pahi have been built at Jaydevkasba multipurpose cyclone shelter. Similarly, for the people of Khadupahi and Tundra Pahi, camps have been set up at Khadu multipurpose cyclone shelter. Chandipur ITR will provide breakfast and lunch at the shelters. Moreover, eligible beneficiaries will receive financial assistance, which will be credited to their bank accounts. TNN
