3 killed on Sohela-Padampur road, 2 injured | Bhubaneswar News

Sambalpur: Three persons, including a nine-year-old boy, were killed when their SUV collided with a stationary truck on Sohela-Padampur road in Bargarh district on Friday. The accident took place near Sanajor under Melchamunda police limits in Sohela block. The deceased have been identified as Lili Behera (28), her son Anshuman Behera (9), and driver Uday Singh Sidhar (40).
According to police sources, the family from Jhikabahal village in Rayagada district was travelling to Saphia village near Padampur when tragedy struck. Nine-year-old Anshuman died on the spot, while Lili and the driver succumbed to their injuries at the district headquarters hospital, Bargarh.
Naimish Behera (34), Lili’s husband, and their six-year-old daughter Anshika sustained critical injuries in the accident. “Four persons were brought here, out of which two were already dead. The other two were in critical condition, hence we referred them to VIMSAR, Burla,” said Dr. Babita Meher of DHH, Bargarh.
Bargarh superintendent of police was unavailable for comment despite repeated attempts to contact them.
