Kendrapada: Three persons were killed in two road accidents in Jagatsinghpur district on Tuesday. Two motorcyclists died after their bike collided with an electricity pole at Nuapada Chhack under Tirtol police limits. The victims were identified as Rudra Narayan Jena (20) and Tofan Jena (17) of Gokulapur village under Raghunathpur police limits. Police seized both the bodies and sent those to the community health center (CHC), Manijanga.
Police believe the accident resulted from rash driving by the bike driver. The driver reportedly lost control of the two-wheeler and collided with the pole. After the accident, locals blocked the road, and as a result of which traffic was affected for around 45 minutes. Police rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators.
In another incident, a helper of a liquor bottle-laden truck was killed, and the driver sustained injuries when the vehicle overturned at Kujang Bazaar under Kujang police limits after it was hit by a sand-laden truck.
