3 killed as car crashes into tree in Koraput | Bhubaneswar News

Koraput: Three persons, including two women, died on the spot and three others were critically injured when a car veered off the road and crashed into a tree near Chandrapada on NH-326 in Koraput district early on Friday. Police sources said the accident took place between 4 am and 4:40 am when the driver lost control apparently due to drowsiness. The car was being driven by Sudipta Kumar Singh Samant, a resident of Nayagarh, who was on a family trip to Malkangiri to visit relatives. The family members were just a short distance away from their destination when the accident occurred.The injured were rushed to Boipariguda hospital. “One of the injured, whose condition was critical, was later referred to SLN Medical College and Hospital in Koraput for advanced treatment,” said Partha Kashyap, sub-divisional police officer (Jeypore). An investigation has been initiated to ascertain what led to the accident, he added.
