Koraput: Police arrested three persons for allegedly running a prostitution racket at a lodge in Koraput district’s Jeypore on Thursday night. The accused have been identified as Sumant Kumar Nisanka (30) of Nayagarh district, Ashok Kumar Gujel (22) of Padmapur and Bijay Kumar Bhainsa (21) of Koraput district. “While searching the lodge, we found three men and two women in compromising positions in two rooms,” said IIC of Jeypore Town police station, Iswar Tandi. According to Tandi, all five persons were interrogated, and the two women, who were identified as victims, have been released.
During interrogation, it was found that the illegal activity had been going on in the lodge for quite some time, and the victims belong to Khurda and Bhubaneswar, Tandi added.
During the raid, police recovered a sealed envelope containing six used condoms, two unused condoms, medicinal tablets and two mobile phones. Probe is on to arrest the kingpin, police said.
